The Northfield
Community Nursery School offers classes for children ages 11
months to 5 years old. The school’s relaxed and casual setting
is geared to the needs and interests of each young child. NFCNS
has a developmental philosophy and is implemented by teaching
professionals who are dedicated to providing challenge, love,
and care to the developing child.
Music & Movement:
A fun mix of music and movement, this class is designed for the
young child and the parent/caregiver. Meeting weekly for 45
minutes with our NFCNS Music Specialist, this class gives
children the opportunity to learn about the world around them
using musical concepts incorporating singing, bubbles, puppets,
instruments and rhythm sticks. Providing large motor play, this
class is so much fun that the children don't even realize that
they are learning! Three sessions for children 8-16 months,
17-23 months and an all ages siblings class.

Toddlers are busy, busy little learners with lots of new things
to explore. We specialize in channeling all that energy into
things that help toddlers learn and grow. This class introduces

routine. This class meets weekly for 1 hour and 15

motor play, exploration of art, story time, snack, and musical
activities. Child must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
Potty training is not required for this program.

Preschoolers are like sponges – they soak up knowledge. Social,
verbal, cognitive and physical skills are built through
activities that engage children – counting out oranges for a
snack, identifying the first letter of each child’s name, or
cooperating to assemble a puzzle. This class meets Monday-Friday
from 12:15-2:45PM and is designed for all pre-kindergarten
children. Class size is limited to 16 children. In Five Day Afternoon children
learn everything they need to be prepared for kindergarten and
beyond.
This program is for those children whose birthdays are between
09/01/03 -08/31/04.
Northfield
Community Nursery School now offers a pair of Enrichment Classes
for kids currently enrolled in 5-Day classes. Mini Olympians and
Handwriting Without Tears are fun, entertaining and wildly
popular — so register early!

Summer Camp:
For children enrolled at NFCNS, Summer Camp is a fun experience
that addresses the specific social, creative and development
needs of Pre-Kindergarten children during the summer.
Summer Camp has the same friendly atmosphere and many of the
same staff members from the regular school year. Outdoor
activities are the major concentration including water fun,
games, nature investigations, sand creations and even ice cream.
Fun crafts and indoor activities are available during inclement
weather and for quiet times. The
program is designed to allow children the opportunity to play,
to create, to socialize, and to have fun as an individual and as
a member of a group.
Summer camp is a seven week program two or three mornings a week.
This year's summer session is scheduled for 7 weeks from
June 10-July 24
2009.
