Pre-K:
Preschoolers are like sponge; they soak up knowledge. Social,
verbal, cognitive and physical skills are built through
activities that engage children: counting out oranges for a
snack, identifying the first letter of each child’s name, or
cooperating to assemble a puzzle. This class meets Monday-Friday
from 8:45-11:15 AM or 12:15-2:45 PM and is designed for all pre-kindergarten
children. In this program children
learn everything they need to be prepared for kindergarten and
beyond.
This
program is for those children who are
five years old by
September 1, 2010.
---> Enrichment:
Northfield Community Nursery School is proud to offer three Enrichment
Classes for kids currently
enrolled in 5-Day classes.
Mad
Science
In this electrifying program, mini-scientists will experiment
with a variety of fascinating topics. Each week will
involve hands-on experiments and exploration designed just for
younger scientists. Lots of fun and exciting science topics to
investigate and things to take home --a Mad Science
extravaganza!
Young Rembrandts
Lets get ready to draw amazing things together! Young
Rembrandts innovative, step-by-step drawing method can teach
any child how to draw regardless of artistic ability, giving
them skills to express their creativity that will last a
lifetime. This class will provide all materials and brand new
subject matter every week, ranging from animals, landscapes,
still-lifes, even art history. Let's draw!
Mini Olympians
The curriculum includes stretching, warm-up, basic gymnastic
skills such as forward and backward rolls, different height
dimensions including balance beam and bar, gross motor
activities involving jump ropes, hula hoops, parachute and more
to develop skills. This program is designed to develop
flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination and
self-confidence. Children are awarded a medal in a fun
Mini Olympian
ceremony at the end of the year.
---> Extended Day:
We provide extended day programs before and after school and
transportation in conjunction with Tick Tock Child Care.
--->
Lunch Bunch:
Lunch Bunch operates
three days a week as an extension to morning or afternoon
classes. Students can expand their horizons further through
additional experiences with other students. The program is very
popular with children and parents alike. During this time
children eat the lunch theyve brought from home and have
unstructured play with their friends. Lunch Bunch also gives
children the opportunity to socialize with children from other
classes. 45 minutes..
Summer Session:
Join the fun! Summer Session is a entertaining experience
that addresses the specific social, creative and development
needs of Pre-Kindergarten children during the summer.
Summer Camp has the same friendly atmosphere and many of the
same staff members from the regular school year. Outdoor
activities are the major concentration including water fun,
games, nature investigations, sand creations and even ice cream.
Fun crafts and indoor activities are available during inclement
weather and for quiet times. The
program is designed to allow children the opportunity to play,
to create, to socialize, and to have fun as an individual and as
a member of a group.
Summer camp is a seven week program two or three mornings a week.
This year's summer session is scheduled for 7 weeks from
TBA.
