Our Classrooms
We recognize the primary importance of safety and cleanliness throughout every room of the school. Classroom learning centers are arranged to promote learning through play and facilitate exploration according to each child’s individual pace, interest, and learning style. The abundance of natural light in each classroom and the outdoor professional landscaping that envelops each room, make for a beautifully aesthetic classroom environment. Large group, small group and individual spaces are intentionally planned in every classroom to promote different levels of socialization, creativity, discovery and motor skill activities.
Our Commitment to Clean!
Multiple times throughout the year, NFCNS parents descend on every single classroom armed with disinfectant (as green as we can get!) and gloves. We thoroughly wipe down every toy and surface, we sanitize everything possible in a disinfectant solution, and we wash whatever can be washed in a machine or by hand. We are the ONLY school in the area that does this, and it’s really important because while our teachers do a great job of keeping things clean on a daily basis, NFCNS parents feel that this deep clean goes the extra step to keeping our students healthy and safe.

Our Playground
We consider our playground an extension of our indoor classroom and often refer to it as the “Outdoor Learning Environment”. Physical activity, socialization, cooperative games, problem solving, unearthing hidden treasures and discovering bugs, are all purposeful learning activities while playing outdoors at NFCNS. Our safety and cleanliness guidelines translate to our playground as well. We adhere strictly to all DCFS and Department of Health outdoor safety guidelines and staff plan their playground activities to provide supervision of children at all times.
